2. Core Permissions & Data Handling
AutoReply WA operates primarily locally on your Android device to inspect and automatically reply to messages. To provide this functionality, the app requires specific native system permissions:

- Notification Listener Service: In order to detect incoming chat messages and automatically post a reply, AutoReply WA requires Android's Notification Access permission. Our app listens exclusively to incoming message notifications from compatible apps (e.g., WhatsApp). It extracts the sender name and message content, checks it against your user-defined rules, and sends the automated reply.
- No Message Data Logging: We do not upload your chat message content or notification histories to any remote servers. The message matching and reply dispatch happen 100% locally on your physical device.
3. Cloud Sync & Google Accounts
We use Google Sign-In and Google Cloud Firestore to manage user accounts and sync custom reply configurations:
- User Profile Info: When you log in using Google Sign-In, we collect your basic profile information (email address, full name, and profile picture URL). This is used solely to create your account and represent your profile in the app's settings.
- Rule Synchronisation: If you are signed in, your user-configured reply rules (trigger text, response content, match types) are synced to Cloud Firestore. This allows you to securely restore your rules if you switch devices. The Firestore connection is encrypted via HTTPS and secured with role-based access rules preventing unauthorized access.
- Optional Login (Tester Bypass): You can use the app without logging in or using Cloud Sync. In this mode, all rules are stored exclusively on your device within local database storage.
4. Data Storage & Security
We employ standard technical and administrative safeguards to protect user configurations:
- Local Storage: Your rule triggers and local log histories are cached locally in protected Android SQLite database space. This data cannot be accessed by other applications.
- Exporting Logs: If you export activity logs as a CSV file, the file is temporarily generated in your local workspace and shared using the OS-native share sheets. We do not store or track exported logs.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or distribute your email address, profile data, or configuration rules with third-party advertising networks or external data brokers.
5. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete it from our servers.
6. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You have full control over your data in AutoReply WA:
- You can edit or delete your configured reply rules directly within the app's home screen at any time.
- You can request a complete delete of your synced user account and stored rules by contacting our support team.
